Zen Buddhism: Working for a Sustainable Lifestyle

Day: Saturday
Time: 11.00am – 12.00
Booking Necessary: Yes

How can Zen Buddhism help us to create a more sustainable lifestyle and a healthier relationship to the world around us? Zen practice is basically about learning how to use our attention more skillfully, whether this is in the context of work, family life or the world around us. This webinar will give you a clearer sense of what Zen practice is all about and how it can improve the quality of our lives and our environment. Following a talk of around 30 minutes, there will be time for some Q and A and a chance to respond to some of the themes of the talk. The talk is given by Sensei Karl Kaliski, a sanctioned Zen teacher based in Glasgow

Organisation Information:

Sensei Karl Kaliski is the director and resident teacher of the Cloud Water Zen Centre, which is based in the centre of Glasgow. He began practising Zen in the 1990s at Rochester Zen Center (NY, USA) established by Roshi Philip Kapleau, the author of ‘The Three Pillars of Zen’. Karl Sensei was sanctioned to teach Zen in 2015 and since then the Cloud Water Zen Centre has offered a wide range of activities for people interested in learning about and trying out Zen practice
