Join us for an interactive lecture presented by Architectural Association Ground Lab and the Common Wealth Think Tank in imagining the implementation of Green New Deal policies in Glasgow in 2030. The project envisions a future for Glasgow in three scales:
New networks of green and blue insfrastructure are proposed for flood resilience, while bringing people closer to nature and transitioning to alternative energies.
‘Away with the Cars’ policies increase the space for pedestrians, public transport, green infrastructure and green community business.
retrofitting ensures that social housing has proper insulation and energy saving mechanisms to improve inhabitants’ health, and introduces shared communal facilities for maintenance, food production and community leisure.
New Glasgow Society is a civic society promoting, protecting and raising interest in the City of Glasgow, through campaigning, discussion, projects, talks and exhibitions.
AA Ground Lab is a design laboratory based at the Architectural Association in London. AA Ground Lab aims to provide alternative visions to tackle climate crisis by partnering with movements, communities, think tanks and institutions to visualise post carbon, Green New Deal and others scenarios for cities and landscapes.
