Glasgow Gurdwara

Glasgow Gurdwara is situated in the middle of the heart of Pollokshields. It is the first purposely built Gurdwara(Sikh Temple) in Scotland. It was built in 2013.
It is next to the Tramway on Albert drive. It is a two story building complete with main prayer hall, Langar hall(free kitchen), seven classrooms which get utilised for Sunday Panjabi School, Religious, Music and English classes.

Physical Access to Building: Limited Access (only part of the building is fully accessible (e.g. ground floor is wheelchair accessible but other areas are only accessible via stairs – please explain below)
Further details: There is lift for access to go upstairs in the main Darbar Hall(Prayer), should anyone to choose to do so. All visitors must take their shoes off downstairs and cover their head(head covering will be provided). Unfortunately, wheelchairs are not permitted upstairs due to health and safety reasons.
Facilities: Seating, Toilet, Wheelchair Accessible Toilet, Refreshments, Staff will have undergone Accessible Tourism Training
Additional Restrictions: Kitchen preparation area.

Gurdwara Guru Granth Sahib Sikh Sabha, or locally known as Glasgow Gurdwara, marks progress for Sikhs in Scotland by proudly serving the community as the first purpose built Gurdwara in Scotland. Situated in multicultural Pollokshields, the Gurdwara acts as a cultural, educational and religious hub for Sikhs and the wider community.

The Gurdwara serves the whole community by promoting free education services, a free kitchen, faith and cultural services and a range of advice & support services.
