Come and visit this well-kept architectural secret dating from 1932, reputedly the last stonebuilt Church of Scotland. The well-known Scottish architect Sir Robert Lorimer designed this Category B listed building which now dominates Knightswood Cross. Once inside the building, you will notice its lofty wooden ceiling, intricate carvings and beautiful stained glass windows, which lend it the appearance of a mini-cathedral. It also houses a musical gem – the 156-year-old Father Willis Organ, which organists have visited from near and far and which has been played by internationally acclaimed recitalists.
Hopefully, you will enjoy the beauty and peace of this sanctuary and experience its replenishing calm. This year we will be focussing on the theme for GDOD 2023 which is ‘The Sensory City’. With all the changes in the nationwide Church of Scotland the future of this church building has yet to be determined so come and visit us while you can.
