Clydeside Garden
Clydeside Garden is a brownfield-inspired public garden created on ‘meanwhile’ land at Glasgow Harbour, G11 as part of Glasgow City Council’s River Activation Programme. The large stones that form the infrastructure of this new community greenspace are the original quay stones from the Anchor Line harbour and Meadowside Shipyard that once operated from this site on the River Clyde. The garden’s location would have been a significant departure point for Scots leaving to begin their lives in the ‘New World’. The garden was created to highlight the importance of ecological biodiversity found within urban brownfield locations. The planting is inspired by the flora and fauna found in the adjacent brownfield space, where you will find wild red clover, broom, buddleja, tansy and aster growing and hear the birdsong of willow warblers, whitethroat, greenfinches, bullfinches and dunnocks. Pop along to discover this brand new wildlife haven on the banks of the Clyde. Help us to plant early-flowering spring bulbs, and make your own seed bomb to take home with you!

Physical Access: Limited Access
Further Accessibility Details: The garden is sited within an amenity mown grass area. EXIT is a fully operating DIY, independent and artist run club and arts space which was opened in September 2023. The building on Maxwell St was once home to Fury Murry’s in the late 80s and 90s, and then repurposed into a strip club. The space has a lot of character, with the majority of the strip club interiors remaining largely intact. EXIT has a strong DIY ethos, platforming and growing the local scene and creative community here in Glasgow.
