Graham Kerr Building
The Graham Kerr Building is the home to world class research and teaching in Zoology at the University of Glasgow. This fine Edwardian building is the work of Sir John James Burnet, one of Glasgow’s eminent architects and an impressive example of his later work. To continue the celebration of the its 100th anniversary last year we are opening on a Saturday to offer a variety of events: A lecture on Sir John Graham Kerr and the Flourishing of Glasgow Zoology at 10.00 am and 2:00 pm in the Main Lecture Theatre; family-friendly animal based activities on this year’s theme of ‘Migration’ will be held in the Zoology Museum; a short tour of the Graham Kerr Building will be offered, looking at its surviving original features and recently restored entrance and foyer at 11:15 am, 12:15 pm and 3:15 pm and an an immersive experience with community projects aimed at restoring Scotland’s oyster fishery – Sounds of Restoration: Oyster Habitats in Scotland’s Nature Transformation Workshop.

EXIT
EXIT is a fully operating DIY, independent and artist run club and arts space which was opened in September 2023. The building on Maxwell St was once home to Fury Murry’s in the late 80s and 90s, and then repurposed into a strip club. The space has a lot of character, with the majority of the strip club interiors remaining largely intact. EXIT has a strong DIY ethos, platforming and growing the local scene and creative community here in Glasgow.
