St Mary’s Scottish Episcopal Cathedral
St Mary’s is one of the very best examples of Gothic Revival architecture in the world. The stained glass, part of an integrated sequence within the church, was designed by Hardman, Ward & Hughes and Clayton & Bell studios. St Mary’s was consecrated in 1884, with the spire being added nine years later to the original tower. In 1908, in recognition of the church’s growing influence and status, St Mary’s became the Cathedral Church of the Scottish Episcopal Diocese of Glasgow & Galloway. Over the years, the Cathedral has undergone several restorations. Internally the organ has been rebuilt; the font moved from the west door to the south transept, and the east end and crossing decorated with murals painted by Gwyneth Leech. Interior restoration has included the introduction of an altar and choir stalls in the nave and a new porch completed in 2002 at the west end.

EXIT is a fully operating DIY, independent and artist run club and arts space which was opened in September 2023. The building on Maxwell St was once home to Fury Murry’s in the late 80s and 90s, and then repurposed into a strip club. The space has a lot of character, with the majority of the strip club interiors remaining largely intact. EXIT has a strong DIY ethos, platforming and growing the local scene and creative community here in Glasgow.
