The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice
This tour is a unique opportunity to explore the award-winning Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice. Completed in 2018 and designed by the internationally renowned Ryder Architecture, this £21 million award-winning and innovative space, puts patients and their families at the heart of the building. Inspired by the pioneering Scandinavian model of Sengetun, the Hospice building offers patients, and their families care in a place that looks and feels like home. You will get a behind-the-scenes look at how care is provided in this ground-breaking building and grounds. You will learn about the history of Glasgow’s Hospice, explore areas of the building you may not have seen before, and hear about how we care for patients and their families across the south of Glasgow and parts of East Renfrewshire and beyond. Our gardens will also be open to visitors. EXIT is a fully operating DIY, independent and artist run club and arts space which was opened in September 2023. The building on Maxwell St was once home to Fury Murry’s in the late 80s and 90s, and then repurposed into a strip club. The space has a lot of character, with the majority of the strip club interiors remaining largely intact. EXIT has a strong DIY ethos, platforming and growing the local scene and creative community here in Glasgow.
