Glasgow Lawyers Heritage Trail

Meeting Point: Royal Faculty of Procurators in Glasgow
Nearest Address to Meeting Point: 12 Nelson Mandela Place
Trail Postcode: G2 1BT

One of the most famous legal cases in the world examined the age-old question: ‘who is my neighbour’? On this city centre walk you will join a local lawyer asking likewise. Starting at the Royal Faculty of Procurators building in Nelson Mandela Place and tip-toeing around neighbouring ecclesiastical, political, social, customary, economic, and artistic city centre landmarks, you will be invited to connect and explore the highs and lows of Glasgow’s built heritage and those that made it, which identify the identity of a historic legal fraternity which had a place and played a major role at the heart of the greatest of great cities. Whether the neighbourhood still suggests Glasgow’s legal profession has or ought to have such a place and role, is the concluding question you will be left to contemplate and hopefully comment on
