The College has been in existence since 1599, working to regulate and improve healthcare in Glasgow and the West of Scotland for centuries. From the first meeting at Blackfriar’s Kirk on High Street to its current premises at 242-252 St Vincent Street, the College has remnants of its heritage dotted around the city. Join us for a unique virtual walking tour around the city centre of Glasgow, where we tell you the stories of Glasgow’s medical past!
We will be using a fantastic app called Guidigo to present our tours. Guidigo is free to download and makes exploring the city easy and fun!
HOW TO:
1. Download the Guidigo App on your phone.
2. Search in the app for the name of the trail or Glasgow Doors Open Days Festival.
3. You can also click the ‘Visit this Trail’ link to view the trail on your browser.
Kirsty Earley is the Digital Heritage and Engagement Officer at the Royal College of Physicians of Glasgow. A native weegie, her job involves telling the stories of the College’s heritage and Glasgow’s medical history through digital means.
