Freemasonry is one of the oldest and largest fraternal organisations in the world, with about 6 million members worldwide. We provides our members with a code for living and a community which is based on, and governed, by sound moral and ethical standards. We are an organisation of men who desire to live by the principles of brotherly love, relief (charity) and truth, which unify them regardless of colour, creed or status. Any man meeting the criteria may join, from a refuse man to a top judge. We are a non-profit-making organisation which involves itself in supporting charities, local organisations and serving its community. UK Masonry is amongst the top charitable givers in the country, giving more than £50 million to charity in 2020. We provide our members with a common interest where they can meet and enjoy the company of like-minded men from all walks of life. Lodge Georgetown has a 100yr history, from origins the construction of a munitions factory in 1915 in the new township bearing it’s name to a request to The Grand Lodge of Scotland for guidance and support to form a lodge within that new Crown territory of Georgetown. Come inside and see our set-up hall and museum!
