Glasgow Street Aid
Come for an exclusive look behind the scenes at our extraordinary, purpose fitted Medical and Welfare Centre! You’ll get an exclusive tour, meet members of our dedicated, specialist volunteer teams and hear about their inspiring experiences including how they have become steadfast support to both the local community and visitors to Glasgow alike. Once again we have partnered with The Glasgow Science Centre and Glasgow University Anatomy Department to bring you both interactive and vintage anatomy models, plus there’ll be a mini exhibition of documentary photographs taken by Cameron Scott. You’ll even get a chance to see inside our emergency ambulance and much more! Situated in the heart of Union Street, our charity is situated in one of only two surviving category B-listed Victorian, classical style warehouses designed by W. Lochhead in 1855, for the famous Wylie & Lochhead. Tours are free, but due to limited space, must be booked in advance. If you cannot make your tour, we ask that you please cancel your ticket to free up space for someone else. Join us for an eye-opening insight into Glasgow Street Aid and learn about the vital role we have within the city.

ORGANISATION
Organised by: Glasgow Street Aid
Glasgow Street Aid is an independent, pre-hospital medical and welfare charity set up by ex army medic, John Barclay in 2000. Our mission has evolved into assisting in tackling the pressures on both the ambulance service and A&E departments by providing on scene care in the city centre - helping people get the right care from the right place. We have a medical centre on Union Street and 2 registered emergency ambulances. Our specialist volunteers come from a range of backgrounds including Paramedics, First Responders (FREC 3 and FREC 4+), Ambulance Technicians, Registered Nurses and we have a large student body - all from different healthcare fields, including medicine. We deal with a range of trauma, medical and welfare jobs including overdoses, head injuries, mental health concerns, high intoxication (list not exhaustive) and our operational hours are both Friday and Saturdays - 7pm to 4am.
