Retrofitted Low Carbon Home – Newlands

Retrofitted Low Carbon Home - Newlands
Nina and Josef were expecting a baby when they decided to take the plunge and retrofit their two bedroom terrace. Josef is originally from Vienna, a city known for high quality housing, and knew that better was possible. Nina and Josef organised essential repairs, renovated their kitchen-living room, insulated, and installed a heat pump and solar PV panels. The result is a cosy and low carbon family home. Join Nina for an informative tour of her home. You will be able to see the different retrofit elements, including the underfloor insulation and heat pump. You will learn about the steps she took, the costs involved and what she would do differently. A retrofit expert from Loco Home Retrofit will also be at hand. Nina is a member of Loco Home Retrofit CIC – a cooperative set up by homeowners in Glasgow to provide expert advice and help retrofitters learn from one another as they transition off fossil fuels and onto safe, clean energy. Nina has featured in The Herald “We retrofitted our home with heat pump – while having a baby” and you can read her case study by going to https://retr.fit/wqtx
