No.4 Okina
A visit to the Scottish Mask and Puppet Centre will reveal one of the hidden wonders of Glasgow’s West End. There is wizardry at work behind our doors – the magical world of masks and puppets! Enjoy a free puppet show on Sat 21 / Sun 22 Sep with Professor Clive at 11am, 1pm and 3pm, you won’t be disappointed. There will also be free tours and demo’s with Malcolm Knight the Founder of the Centre after each show to our workshops. Take the weight off your feet in our cafe and have a coffee with some home baking, while the children do colour-in/cut-out puppet or mask activity kits – available to buy alongside light refreshments, soup and sandwiches. The foyer is an ideal place to start browsing the multicultural exhibits linked to this year’s DOD theme – Diversity & Diaspora – see puppets and masks from around the world including shadow puppets from India, Greece & Indonesia, in our cafe, visit the library. Our gift shop has old fashioned toys, puppets and much more.
