Join us at Woodlands Community Development Trust to learn how we build social connections though transforming local spaces. Be inspired by our Anti-Racist Library, the first of its kind in Scotland. In our anti-racism work, we take an expanded view of what a library is. It is, of course, a collection of books but any library is also so much more. Libraries are places to gather, to meet people, to share stories, troubles and conversation. They are places to come for information or to be signposted to services. They are social spaces where nobody needs to spend any money and so are egalitarian by their very nature. The Anti-Racist Library is no different. Our books are carefully curated to carry forward anti-racist education in a community setting and act as a vehicle for conversation. All are welcome, so come along to learn more! At Woodlands, we believe beautiful spaces support creativity, so visit our community Meeting Room and Garden to find out how these spaces support our programme of events, or see how they might spark ideas for your next workshop, rehearsal, group or project…

ORGANISATION
Organised by: Woodlands Community Development Trust
Woodlands Community Development Trust runs spaces, programmes and events that support a wide range of local residents. All our initiatives are shaped by our values and designed to integrate social wellbeing with the environment. For example, we build social connections through transforming local spaces, such as our community garden and lane clean-ups. We reduce social isolation and hardship by building knowledge, skills and confidence including through events held at our Meeting Room and Events Terrace. Working alongside local residents, we empower people to take action.
