We encourage you to reimagine your horizons in this creative workshop designed to help you unwind and reflect through the medium of paint. Dawn Spence, Glasgow-based artist will give us inspiration, techniques and the materials needed to create a unique and colourful painting on canvas and spark conversations that allow us to connect and share our unique experiences of what a ‘horizon’ means to you. Come and explore this newly renovated church building in the heart of the city dated from 1877. Where fires destroyed other local buildings, here you will experience a story of survival and renewal. Stone staircases, Corinthian columns and stained glass windows sit alongside a state of the art audio visual system, fully functioning kitchen and café bar, and art gallery. A calm, welcoming, adaptable space that provides the city with opportunities for events, occasions, and the cultivation of community. (Please note, there will be an additional Writing Workshop on Saturday 20th Sept which will respond to the art made in this event and also look at Reimagining Horizons. You are welcome to attend this follow up if it interests you, but there is no requirement – they are separate events!) We are part of The Sauchiehall Street: Culture and Heritage District cluster.
