Lar Housing Trust – Ruchill Quadrangle Site Tour

Lar Housing Trust
The Quadrangle, in Ruchill Glasgow, was a once thriving industrial hub on the banks of the Union Canal providing work for many locals. The area has a rich heritage and was home to well-known businesses such as the McLellan Glasgow Rubber Works and Bryant & May matches. The Quadrangle site was first developed in the 1880s as the Alexander Fergusson Lead & Colour Works paint factory. In the 1990s, the site was converted into offices and the last occupied by The Prince’s Trust and the City Council. Lar Housing Trust bought the site in 2022 and is currently converting the main former factory building into 43 affordable apartments. The site is under construction, but this event will offer a unique opportunity to learn more about Lar and see this example of our work in progress, breathing new life into an old building. You will meet with one of our Community Engagement team to show you around the first completed properties as well as answering questions about this or any of our other developments as we restore old and abandoned buildings across Scotland.
