The Making of Clydeside Gardens
Clydeside Garden is an open access community greenspace created by artists, Mary Redmond & Kate Drummond with local residents at the Glasgow Harbour flats.
The design of the garden takes inspiration, and makes important reuse of materials, from the expansive brownfield site adjacent to its location.
Clydeside Garden provides a social space for people as well as habitat and food sources for pollinators and is an intervention in Glasgow’s cityscape that celebrates the importance of ecological biodiversity within urban brownfield locations.
Please join Mary & Kate for a short talk about the processes, thoughts and ideas behind making Clydeside Garden, the importance of biodiversity within brownfield lands and the value of open free-to-access community-led greenspaces.
You can also make your own Clydeside Garden seed mix to take home!

This September, the ARC hosts the immersive "Meet the MPN 10" exhibition, highlighting myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs), rare blood cancers. The exhibit features 10 giant sculptures designed by artists, displaying common MPN symptoms. Visitors can further engage with these characters via augmented reality, raising awareness of symptoms that often go unnoticed.
