Whiteinch: The Lovable Neighbourhood

image001
You say ‘Liveable’ we say Lovable: The local community are responding to the Glasgow City Council Plans for Liveable Neighbourhoods with a look at the historic community of Whiteinch…and what made it so good. There will be an exhibition of old photographs, a survey of shops and what we have lost, a 1970s newsreel film courtesy of STV and a talk by Sandra Malcolm, Whiteinch historian and author of Old Scotstoun and Whiteinch. We will show what made Whiteinch the lovable community it was. In October we’ll follow up with another session that looks at what a ‘liveable community’ is and will explore the plans and ideas of Glasgow City Council.
