The Arlington baths Club
Founded in 1870, the Arlington Baths Club is a welcoming and peaceful sanctuary for citizens of Glasgow, offering a relaxing getaway in the heart of the city. Owned and run by members for members, this community organisation is the oldest surviving club of its kind in the world. Run on a not for profit basis and recognised by HM Treasury as a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC), the Category A listed historic Victorian bathing complex houses a 21m skylit swimming pool, a unique domed Turkish Suite, saunas, steam rooms, original free standing slipper baths and hot tubs, a stylish members lounge, and a bright state of the art gymnasium.
Our archive including membership rolls and memorabilia dating back 150 years is freely available to view in the Mitchell Library. Membership is open to all. The club regularly participates in the Annual Doors Open Days Festival, the Westend Festival and Bookweek Scotland. In addition to welcoming visitors to our own artists exhibitions, we also recently hosted Lost Glasgow and Glasgow Coat of Arms exhibitions. We also welcome visitors at any time for free guided tours.
