Join me in exploring the exciting past of Glasgow Green. Come and embark on a journey finding out the history of the Green from its humble beginning’s to the present day and the history of some of its surrounding buildings. We will start with the story of the fairs on the green and the hangings in front of the high court. We will then go on a journey to find out the extraordinary history of the building’s on the green ,and how a city merchant tried to re-shape the river Clyde. The green also has a history of sport, ranging from swimming to football and many more which we will explore. There is a strong history of political, religious and social history on the green to find out about. There will be funny story’s and sad story’s to tell . Come find out the history of one of the most historical site’s in Scotland.
