Retrofitted Low Carbon Home – Cathcart

Retrofitted Low Carbon Home - Cathcart
In response to climate change, homeowners across Glasgow are transforming their cold, draughty and expensive-to-heat houses into cosy eco-homes which run on clean electricity. After getting a whole house plan, Paul and Rebecca made some fabric improvements to their sandstone terrace before switching from a gas boiler to an efficient heat pump. These measures, partly funded by Home Energy Scotland, have resulted in improved comfort with no increase to energy bills. Their household’s heating carbon footprint has gone down by around two thirds. Join Paul and Rebecca for an informative tour of their home. You will hear about the steps they took, the impact of the changes, what they learned and how much it cost. A retrofit expert will also be on hand for help with any technical questions you have. Paul is a member of Loco Home Retrofit CIC – a cooperative set up by homeowners in Glasgow to help retrofitters learn from one another as they transition their homes off fossil fuels and onto safe, clean energy. You can also read Paul’s article “Questions I now know to ask a heat pump installer” on LinkedIn https://retr.fit/zoh1
