Here at Mackintosh’s tea room breakages are inevitable. Rather than throw away any chipped Burleigh crockery we pass it on to Jon from Crafted Glass, who upcycles it into bespoke pieces of jewellery, transforming what would’ve ended up in the landfill into unique, beautiful handmade items with a second life.
Mackintosh At The Willow is a grade-A listed Art Nouveau treasure in Glasgow city centre. Designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh and Margaret Macdonald for entrepreneur Miss Catherine Cranston in 1903, it has been fully restored to its former glory. Composed of beautiful historic tearooms, the immaculate Salon de Luxe, a gentleman’s Billiard Room and light and airy gallery, the building now also includes an interactive exhibition, creative learning space, corporate spaces and 21st roof terrace for socialising.
