The Axiom Building

Axiom
The Axiom Building is a red brick building and was built between 1951-54 replacing smaller buildings such as a cooperage and a mill. It was formally used as a whisky warehouse and now is used for a variety of businesses such as yoga, pottery and houses our gallery, studios and workshop space. Our SaltSpace Gallery will be hosting it’s fifth annual members show, ‘Muster Point’, over the course of Glasgow Doors Open Days. The theme encourages our membership to explore ideas of seeking refuge with one another and finding safety within our communities. Come and see a variety of exciting new contemporary works from a range of local artists. We will be holding an open evening from 6 – 8pm on Thursday 19th September and the show will continue from 20th – 24th September, 12 – 4pm. To give our visitors a real sense of what happens at SaltSpace, we will also be hosting an open studio event on Friday 20th September from 12 – 4pm. Come and pop in to see our members at work and talk to the artists about their works in process. This is a real chance to see ‘behind the scenes’ of the creative process, and time to see the exhibition too! We can’t wait to show you what we’ve been up to!
