Listening to Our Cty – Workshop

LTOC
Listening To Our City is an ongoing Glasgow-based project by Tricky Hat involving people who have experience of the asylum seeking and refugee process. This project has been developing since 2022, working with organisations such as Common Ground, Maryhill Integration Network, and Poverty Truth Network Scotland. It is rooted in positioning artistic collaboration and storytelling as methods through which the historical and cultural narratives of civic spaces in our city can be reconsidered and renegotiated. This workshop will be led by Tricky Hat’s Associate Director, Eoin McKenzie, offering insight into the creative practice and research that has informed the project so far. We will share sections of the soundwalks, and films created throughout the process and collaborations to date before opening into a workshop environment. During the workshop attendees will be invited to explore some of the creative practices developed throughout the Listening To Our City project in a gentle and relaxed fashion. These will include exercises involving creative writing, mark-making, and psychogeography. The workshop is open to people from all backgrounds and requires no experience of creative practices.
