Wiki Walks – capturing the migrant histories of Sauchiehall Street and Garnethill

IMG_20240718_112654
‘Wiki Walks’ are intentional walks aimed at exploring various areas, themes, or places and documenting the experience through photographs, videos, or sound recordings to be shared on Wikimedia Commons – an online platform for free-to-use multimedia that is open for contributions from anyone. These walks can be easily incorporated into existing activities such as health walks or nature walks, photography groups etc. They provide an accessible way for people to contribute to Wikimedia and help ensure better representation across the Commons archive. Wiki Walks are a way of helping to make Wikimedia better – join Glasgow Building Preservation Trust to find out how. This walk will explore the hidden gems and migrant histories of Sauchiehall Street and Garnethill.
