The Boardwalk is a vibrant, creative and accessible events venue in the heart of Glasgow’s Merchant City, offering an array of meeting, performance, studio and event spaces. The venue offers flexible spaces, from a 120 capacity theatre to 7 studios and meeting rooms with capacities ranging from 10-90 people, suitable for a range of activities including corporate events, conferences, dance rehearsals, creative workshops, performances and many more.
The Boardwalk was previously Glasgow’s Old Sheriff Court’s basement, this is where the cells to keep the criminals on trial until their case was heard. The Old Sheriff Court has a lot of history to it and we would love to share with you.
The Boardwalk is headquarters to Impact Arts and home to Birds of Paradise Theatre Co & Solar Bear. This is our first time taking part in Door’s open day and we are working hard to make your experience when visiting memorable. You can expect guided tours, workshops, and film screenings. These must be booked.
There is also the opportunity to drop in – the art exhibition and Old Sheriff Court Historical Exhibition will be open for people to drop in and have a look if not wanting to book on for a tour.

Fine late-Renaissance style church, with a 150-ft campanile, domed crossing and ornate marble-lined interior and painted ceiling.. Wonderfully restored. Now is the time to visit this beautiful gem.
The Revelator is Scotland’s only fully functioning Wall of Death, Clydebuilt with love by a group of dedicated volunteers. Handmade mainly out of recycled wood and wholly funded by public donations.
