The Church is of the Italian Renaissance period, designed by John Honeyman. The Church stands in Cathedral Square behind the park area and you will see there are four Corinthian columns on top of which are four statues of the four evangelists: St Mathew, St Mark, St Luke and St John and at their feet lie, respectively, the heads of a man, a lion, a calf and an eagle. Above the two doors are two statues being St. Peter and St. Paul. The statues were carved in freestone by McCulloch of London. On entering the Church by the main doors you can see the vestibule and from there you can enter the main sanctuary, this sanctuary is U shaped with the chancel at the south end. There is a balcony on three sides supported on cast iron columns. The centrally placed pulpit dominates the chancel behind which is the magnificent Pipe Organ installed in 1887, An ornate lectern, completes the chancel furniture; this was made by George Parsonage, son of the late Ben Parsonage of the Glasgow Humane Society from scrap metal recovered from the River Clyde. . Probably the most striking feature is the great stained glass window, which depicts the ‘Transfiguration of our Lord’.

Since its construction, the church has housed three congregations: The Duke Street Church, Barony North Church and Glasgow Evangelical Church. You can see old Church Records. We think that this Church building is destined to be a place of worship to the glory of God as it has been used for this purpose for 135 years and without the faith of all these congregations there would be no Church building.
Our faith is in God
Whose love for us is in the gift of His Son,
Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour.
It is with His will that we endeavour
To continue to be worthy of his sacrifice.
