When you visit Greyfriars Biophilic Community Garden your first reaction will probably be “wow, is this really in the heart of the city?” This will be your first opportunity to visit our green oasis in its first ever year planting on the site of the former Hydraulic Pumping Station. You will be impressed with the creativity of the gardeners and marvel at how each of the 56 raised bed plots has been planted. You will enjoy the inventiveness of the gardeners who have found many ways to maximise and expand their small growing space. You will smile at and be charmed by the quirkiness and the creativity. You will marvel at how a site in one of Glasgow’s busiest and oldest streets provides not just a space where people can grow, but also a place to be at one with nature, to relax and to meet in community. The garden will satisfy your love, need and craving for nature. Your senses will be filled with wonder and beauty of nature and the creativity of the gardeners.
