Late 20th century annexe to late 19th century sawmill office. The annexe was previously used by a Glasgow jeweller and is now The Arts Yard, an arts venue and studio space, and home to Carnival Arts Scotland.
The brick-built annexe exterior houses visual delights within: come and see some of our large, colourful carnival sculptures and a ground-floor exhibition celebrating the history of carnival in Glasgow. On the upper floor, a number of artists will be holding an ‘open studios’ event.
The Arts Yard is a 5-minute walk from the Forth and Clyde Canal, near Speirs Wharf, The Whisky Bond and the National Theatre of Scotland.

Carnival Arts is a not-for-profit arts organisation based at The Arts Yard near the Forth and Clyde Canal in the north of Glasgow. We work in partnership with communities and provide a platform for creativity, running outreach workshop programmes and producing events with a focus on carnival and celebration. Our lead artists are from the West Indies and we base our ethos on the carnival structure from the Caribbean. We were the first Scottish organisation to work in and develop Caribbean carnival arts, and have 30 years’ experience in the field.
