Greencity Wholefoods

Greencity Wholefoods
You may be aware that the theme of this years festival is ‘Diversity & Diaspora’- well ,we want to help celebrate the diversity of business types in this great city of ours. So for the first time in our almost 50 year history Glasgow’s very own Workers’ Co-operative will be opening our doors to the public! Why don’t you come along and see what a truly radical business looks like behind the scenes. We do things very differently at Greencity Wholefoods- we have no bosses nor shady shareholders, just 52 workers who are also company directors. We make all of our business decisions ourselves which is an empowering way of holding onto our principles while simultaneously running a successful business. You might be surprised to find something so unexpected tucked away down a side street in this unloved corner of the city. We’d love to invite you in and show you how our business is run, tell you all about out interesting history and how we came to get a foothold in the marketplace while never losing sight of our humble beginnings and all the while maintaining our ethical values. We have a fantastic mural to show off too and some fabulous, locally produced artwork on display.

EXIT
EXIT is a fully operating DIY, independent and artist run club and arts space which was opened in September 2023. The building on Maxwell St was once home to Fury Murry’s in the late 80s and 90s, and then repurposed into a strip club. The space has a lot of character, with the majority of the strip club interiors remaining largely intact. EXIT has a strong DIY ethos, platforming and growing the local scene and creative community here in Glasgow.
