East Park School

East Park School
It was during the reign of Queen Victoria that East Park first opened its doors on 16 September 1874; this year we celebrate 150 years of East Park! Founded by William Mitchell LLD, East Park provided care for children who would benefit from residential nursing care and education. Children were admitted with paralysis, hip, spine and knee joint diseases with rickets being a widespread problem East Park has evolved over the years and upon visiting you will be able to see our most recent capital expansion. All our services focus on the needs of the young people and encourage partnership with the child and family. Our purpose built state of the art facilities help us continuously improve our services and skills in working with children from across Scotland. EXIT
EXIT is a fully operating DIY, independent and artist run club and arts space which was opened in September 2023. The building on Maxwell St was once home to Fury Murry’s in the late 80s and 90s, and then repurposed into a strip club. The space has a lot of character, with the majority of the strip club interiors remaining largely intact. EXIT has a strong DIY ethos, platforming and growing the local scene and creative community here in Glasgow.
