Glasgow Gurdwara

Gurdwara-image-2
Glasgow Gurdwara is the first purpose-built Gurdwara (Sikh Temple) in Scotland and was built in 2013. It is a two-story building complete with the main prayer hall, Langar hall (free kitchen), and seven classrooms which are utilised for Sunday Panjabi School, Religious, Music and English classes. In April 2013, the Scottish Sikh community took a momentous step in opening Scotland’s first purpose-built Sikh Gurdwara. After 51 years in the previous Gurdwara, this was both an emotional and exciting time for the whole community. The new Gurdwara is situated in the heart of Pollokshields on 37 Albert Drive, right next to the Tramway, and it serves as the new home for the Sikh community of Glasgow.
