Have you ever wanted to see behind-the-scenes at Glasgow School of Art’s Archives and Collections? Based at The Whisky Bond, the GSA’s Archives and Collections is home to a diverse range of material, ranging from plaster casts, textiles, furniture, and ceramics, as well as a wide array of artworks, architectural drawings, design work, and archive material relating to former students and staff. This year, in line with the Doors Open Day theme, “We Are All Here: Diversity and Diaspora,” our tour will highlight how immigration and emigration have shaped both Glasgow and the GSA’s vibrant history. You’ll explore the Reading Room, Workroom, and Stores, where we’ll showcase materials that reflect the diverse cultural influences and stories that have contributed to the School’s rich history. Join us to discover how the creative journeys of students and staff from around the world are woven into the fabric of the city’s artistic heritage, shaping the history of the GSA and the collections we hold today.

Charles Rennie Mackintosh designed church. Magnificent stained glass and exceptional wood & stonework relief carving are highlights of the interior, where light and space are used to dramatic effect.
